Liberal MP John Godfrey says the registry cost more money than at first thought, and knows his party will be blamed. But he says the issue isn’t money, it’s public safety.
“The most important point is why we established it in the first place, which was to make Canada safer, so we would know where guns were and who owned them,” he said.
I just have one question. Is it really public safety these guys are after or is it control they long after?
The gun registry does not help a bit when it comes to public safety. Who really thinks someone who wants to use a gun for an illegal purpose will actually register it. Anybody knows how easy it is to get a gun without having to license it, should know that the gun registry only oppresses those who already obey the law, and at the same time makes it easier for those who break the law, to get away with it as not so many good people have guns in order to stop them.
Those liberal people love to make half-baked, dimwitted, and ludicrous things sound good to the public in order to gain personal support.
