New WordPress Plugin – PostByEmail
Posted on May 23rd, 2009 3 commentsOver the last few days I’ve been working on a little wordpress plugin which had just been submitted to their web site, but I have already hosted on Google Code.
Postmaster sucks and WordPress built-in post via email has zero support for attachments. So I rewrote the script so it would support image, audio and video email attachments and automatically post them into wordpress.
Currently using it for one blog and it’s been working great!

Do you have any quick hints on how to install LAME and SoX on a server? I’m excited to use postbyemail, but am a little baffled on how to get LAME and SoX installed in the right places…

Easiest way is to use your Linux distributions package management system such apt-get or rpm.
Otherwise there are many tutorials on the web if you do a search using Google or something.One thing to be aware of is different versions of sox work differently and don’t give the same results. I don’t remember the exact details off hand though.
