eyeOS – Not Bad, Has Potential
Posted on August 31st, 2009 No comments
I just noticed today that eyeOS was featured on the Sourceforge.net POTM.Because of the need at times to have a remote desktop to login to for testing, use for some kind of centralized computer, I had been planning on adding a virtual machine to my server to run a Ubuntu Desktop.
Instead, today I decided to give eyeOS a go.So far it seems really nice. Has an simple document and spreadsheet capability. Notes, mail. File management.
I can see myself using it every now and then for sure. If you have not yet, check out eyeOS!

Just the responsiveness, launch time, etc. Almost seems I have no choice but to use Safari now. Firefox still has some great features that Safari is missing. But we’ll see how this goes.

Dasient and Nerds On Site Partner to Offer Web Site Malware Protection
Posted on August 11th, 2009 No commentsNerds On Site and Dasient have partnered up to provide web site malware protection:
“Every day, thousands of legitimate websites are infected with malicious code, and the speed, scale, and complexity of these attacks makes it difficult for website owners to identify and address the resulting infections,” said Dr. Neil Daswani, one of Dasient’s three co-founders. “Now more than ever it’s important for site owners to deploy defenses that can operate at the scale and speed required to deal with the problem.”
