About This Blog

I'm Arthur Wiebe, a Bible believing born again believe it or not saved by the blood kind of young man who has a desire to live his life in integrity not slacking in what it important but what is not. Seeking the glory which is to come instead of the destruction which has already come.

Need you know much else? Well I like to work as well--especially working towards making technology work better for all of us.

11 May 2007 - 16:52Two Years of lighthousegospel.net

As of today it’s been 2 years that we’ve registered the Lighthouse Gospel Church web site (lighthousegospel.net) in Port Burwell and launched it to the public.

Yesterday night I launched an major revision to the site based on the system I’ve also developed called Illumicore. It’s a complete rewrite and I am pleased with the initial results, but already see a list of things that need to be done. The design could be touched up, currently it’s too blue and almost discouraging. The administration section could be made more usable. Some content could be polished.

But we’re on our way and here’s to the next two years!

BWT, we’ve been added to the iTunes Music Podcast directory.

26 February 2007 - 21:15Illumicore 0.1 Released

On Saturday I released Illumicore 0.1 to the public. It is almost what I wanted it to be. In some areas it has exceeded my expectations, but in the area of the articles manager and search via Zend_Search_Lucene, I’ve been disappointed.

We’re going to be using this release with slight customizations for our church web site, but once our site is deployed, I’ll begin version 0.2.

You can checkout the site for 0.1 information, but for 0.2 I’d like to outline a general plan.

  • Articles manager.
  • All bugs in search fixed.
  • Search date-ranges in audio.
  • Rewrite web audio playlist to be more flexible with file formats, and categories.
  • Unify database usage.
  • Upload audio files and add  to playlist simultaneously.
  • Modules. For example you can insert a special events block from a module into the home page.

Basically it will strive to be more flexible, and fix some annoying issues. So that’ll be all until our next release! :)
Meanwhile, be a light to the world! With spiritual lumens :)

27 January 2007 - 10:58Illumicore Public Source Released

Yesterday night I released the source code of Illumicore at the Google Code project.

You may checkout a preview of our installation for the Lighthouse Gospel Church at illumicore.artooro.com.

The 0.1 release will be announced here and then I’ll shutup about it until 0.2 draws nigh. At least here.

20 January 2007 - 11:58$PROJECT Updates

This $project I’m working on–which has yet to be named, is nigh completion. I expect a live testing site to appear here sometime before or on January 27. We’ll see how it all goes.

Here’s my current todo list:

  1. Complete articles section (search/index/view)
  2. Many CheckFields() uses the old buggy API and need to be upgraded.
  3. The home page needs to be written.
  4. Many administration pages need the delete function to be added.
  5. This project needs a name. Got one?
  6. Pre-beta rough testing and polishing.

For names I have “illumicore” and “can’t think of another one”. Can you think of any?

Well have a snowy day, I’m post again when something live is available.
