Hi, I found this blog post while searching for help with fixing Microsoft Silverlight. I have recently switched browsers from Safari to IE. Now I seem to have a problem with loading websites that use Microsoft Silverlight. Everytime I go on a page that requires Microsoft Silverlight, the site does not load and I get a “npctrl.dll” error. I cannot seem to find out how to fix it. Any help getting Microsoft Silverlight to work is very appreciated! Thanks

It’s bad for the open web. There’s no need for silverlight. We already have flash which is enough of a problem. The web needs to go to a place where no browser plugins are required. And Microsoft does not help that situation.

Hi Jo (27 Jan 2010) – I get the same problem as you and thus far the espson help desk instructions on re-install haven’t made a difference. I’m getting ready to ditch this scanner and buy a new one. If anyone else has had this issue and managed to find a solution, I’d be grateful for a ‘heads-up’ on how it was resolved.

Arthur,

I am able to open the Epson scan settings but when I click on Network, the add button does not light up. Any ideas what I can do? I am able to print via WiFi to the Artisan 810.

Thank you for sharing your experiences regarding NOD32 for Mac.

I agree – it is a very good antivirusprogram (and security suite). Have used it on my Windows-computer since Eset was unknown and only a few “hardcore” people used it

So when switching to Mac some years ago, I really missed NOD32. Not because I felt vulnerable on the Mac, but because I like to be safe instead of sorry.

I have used Intego VirusBarrier off and on, and have been quite happy with it. Still, it is not as smooth and nonintrusive as NOD32 is on a Windows computer.

I was therefore happy to see Eset is making a version for Mac and your review confirms that they are on their way to making a good product, although I also see why it is still in beta.

Again, thank you for sharing your experiences – I will keep them in mind when trying NOD32
