Latest Flip4Mac WMV Beta Installs Microsoft Silverlight by Default

So this is what the world has succumb to. I had been careful not to install the Silverlight virus on my computers since it’s inception, but today I almost got tricked into it. This is bad.

UPDATE!! Here’s a little script you simply double click on to remove Silverlight from your computer.

  1. Thanks for the tip, but it came to late for me.

I upgraded Flip4Mac, discovered it mentions Silverlight, unchecked the box… Found out it was labeled “Upgrade”, and the any Silverlight content worked fine in Safari!

I’m not sure yet if I’m going to uninstall it or leave it…

  2. Hi, I found this blog post while searching for help with fixing Microsoft Silverlight. I have recently switched browsers from Safari to IE. Now I seem to have a problem with loading websites that use Microsoft Silverlight. Everytime I go on a page that requires Microsoft Silverlight, the site does not load and I get a “npctrl.dll” error. I cannot seem to find out how to fix it. Any help getting Microsoft Silverlight to work is very appreciated! Thanks
